Make Hay While The Sun Shines......

I love it when the blossom comes out
As you know we had family here on good Friday and then the rest of Easter weekend was quiet and just us. We still had coffee morning on Monday even though it was on a BH. In fact my nails lady was happy to keep my appointment on a BH too.

Hubby suddenly decided that with the drastic increase in petrol prices he was going to buy an electric car so the research began. He has very high standards and apart from the first two cars after his test which were second hand he had always bought new with lots of extras added on. He looked at two SUVs at Audi and Peugeot and looked at a sport saloon at Mercedes. We've done test drives and spent time looking over showroom models and talking lots of numbers and spec with the sales people, including trade in negotiations on his. However, he has now heard that Audi are currently upgrading the Q4 model that we were looking at and the new version will be released July/August time so he has decided he can wait.

Son and fiancé's dog had surgery this week on her back leg and thankfully all went well. Son said it will be hard getting her to take it easy for the two weeks rest the vet prescribed.

E had been visiting Daughter all week, she was here on good Friday and came again with Daughter and O on Wednesday afternoon which was lovely, then she was home to Norwich again on Thursday.

I've had another CT Scan, I'll let you know when I get results. Have to say the radiographer this time got the cannula in relatively easily which is a miracle with my elusive veins.

We have just received the garden plants Hubby ordered and while we were taking a tour of the garden to decide what should go where we spotted in the far corner one lonely tulip, the only tulip to grace our garden this year.

Maybe you should take a comfort break as reading about yesterday is a long read!
Friday had been planned for a while that we were both out although separately.
Hubby got up at 5:30am and I tried to go back to sleep but got up at 6am just in time to say cheerio to Hubby as he left with NeighbourA, they were driving to the Peak District, a village near Bakewell. They needed to collect a bench to bring home. This was the memorial bench for A's late wife which can't stay where it is any longer (I don't remember why).
I was being picked up at 10:30am by friendKK for a fun day out together so I had plenty of time to get a few things done first. I had just gone upstairs to get dressed when I saw a neighbour going to A's house so just in my nightdress I came down to tell them he was out and that's when I discovered neighbourJM had locked herself out and her phone was still inside the house too! She had only popped out to give her dog a short walk, so she had the dog with her too. I brought her in here of course. I made her a coffee and gave her biscuits, I brought out the dog bed and put down water and some dry food then left her thinking about solutions while I finally got dressed and presentable for going out.
JM's son lives in the Close and has the only spare key but him and his wife were both already at work.
She thought she may have pushed her key back through the letterbox and did I have a magnet which I did have but tried it on my front door key and discovered it wasn't magnetic!
She said her son gets home from work about 2pm-ish so she would go home an sit in her car. I said that's more than four hours without a toilet she'd be more comfortable staying here and she wasn't imposing or being a nuisance which was worrying her. I rang Hubby to check he didn't mind which of course he didn't. Hubby rang me back soon after saying A had JM's key in his house on his telephone table in the hall, so as I've A's spare key we let ourselves in there just to find it was JM's broken car key he had there to fix, not a house key at all. Finally I got JM to write a note saying she was locked out and at my house and put it through her Son's letterbox and stay and I left with my friendKK exhausted.

My day out with KK was lovely apart from her wanting to take me to see the shire horses but had looked up opening times and found the place had closed down. Our first stop instead was a walk around Flatford Mill and their gift shop. Second venue was Hall Farm in Dedham for lunch yummy and a good peruse of the farm shop before heading into the centre of Dedham village for the big craft shop. By then it was late afternoon so KK brought me home and collected a large jar of my homemade quince jelly and another jar with tadpoles from our pond for her's.

Are you wondering what happened with JM? Well when I got home Hubby said he'd got home about 2:30pm and JM wasn't here and there was no note and she hadn't sent me a message so I messaged her. She messaged back saying she had got in when her son came to the rescue however....... her front door hadn't been locked all along!!!

Well we didn't actually make hay, in fact I haven't made anything this week but all our outdoor things have been in sunshine and lovely warm days. Now the weather forecasters are saying it's about to get much colder again, so I'm glad we made the most of it.

See you next week.
